Carry On

Probably my favourite Youth Crew band yet to exist. I hope to God I can one day see them live and take part of there musical significance on my life.
Every band derives from an influence, this just so happens to be my favorite in its genre. Here's to good music.

Canadian Hardcore

I really need to update this thing more often. More and more lately i begin to realize the incredible hardcore bands Canada has and has had in the past. So many Canadian hardcore bring something different and new to the table, now thats more then likely a bias opinion but i think many can agree with me otherwise. Looking through past Toronto hardcore history i realize how much I have missed out on and i get so bummed out knowing now the incredible bands i have missed out on, although my age plays a big part of it. While No Warning, Our War and Haymaker were conquering the local Hogtown i was getting heavily involved in my punk roots from Dead Kennedys to Black Flag. Its crucial for me now to take part in my current scene appreciating the past and agnowledging the present state of hardcore. This summer I am trying to take part in as much concerts as possible but with work and juggling other priorities around its hard to keep track. Appreciate what you're given and make the most of it.

New York Trip/Other

Wow, its been a really long time, I think I may have avoided this because I've either been to lazy or my creativty has drifted off, well this trip didn't in fact happen 'til about 4 or 5 weeks ago, but without a doubt was still awesome. I went with my school which was kind of lame considering there are limitations to where you can go but we still had an amazing time, we stayed at a hotel in central Manhatten about a 5 minute walk from times square, we went to The MOMA art museum, The MET, walked through central park and strawbury field, saw where John Lennon was killed, shopped, went through Soho and spent the whole trip looking for a Ralph Lauren cap but couldn't find any good ones, I had an awesome time and I'm going to go back n the fute and see all of New York City, especially Brooklyn.

Strife Reunion Show

This concert is going to be probably the most anticipated concert in toronto this whole year, everyone is going to be here, i cannot wait for the angst ridden fury this concert will leave everyone with, nothing but good things can be said, and i REALLY, REALLY hope Razzle Dazzle can make this show and not drop. Also Sound and Fury 2008 is looking awesome so far, Guns Up reunion, its only a matter of time before me and some friends road trip it to Santa Barbara.

Gator Smash

Dominican Republic was such a good time. Hungout with my family and cousins, went snorkling and saw some coral reef, got mentally raped by Dominican vendors with there shitty merchandise, swam in the ocean and fought some waves, watched the play Grease with Dominican actors making it all the more interesting, went on an outback Safari and held a gator, ate a bunch of $2 snickers, ATV'd across the beaches and went to a cigar plantation, and played some intense water volleybal at the resort pool. We stayed at the RIU Meringue in Puerto Plata and we had a ball. Haven't had the time to go on this much withme working so much lately and sorting out obligations but everything works out. Hello Scotland I'll See you monday, watchout Glasgow things might get vicious.

Shoes

I'm not sure but for the past few years, i have become quite the shoe addict. If I don't buy shoes, I'm either looking them up on the internet or researching them over the computer. Shoes are just one of the major aspects in fashion for me and people say i have a problem. I look at shoes and any sore of fashion as a form of art, art being influenced through everything and everything being influenced through art, there are just some things that i find more visually satisfying then others. My friend Greg said one time, "Your body is just a blank canvas waiting to be painted", refering to the topic of shoes and fashion and i don't think I could have said it better. Dominican is in 1 day and i can't wait, also it will be sweet not to work for a bit/school.

Fast Times At Gregs Basement

(From left to right: Greg, Ashley, Me, Megan, Paul)

Over the begining of the school year, when I first started dating my girlfriend, I became good friends with her best friends. We would all go to the movies on a regular basis or we would meet at Gregs house which was the sanctuary of fun descended from the depts of anything. Whether you're playing twister, listening to records, catching up on some well deserved Xbox 360 rounds, or taking the simplest of pictures on his Mac, the good times keep on coming. I miss the nights of doing nothing and yet meaning everything. Lately over the year I notice more and more the serentiy and content I achieve through simple things and It is hard not to smile.

Summer

Lately I'm looking forward to summer more these days, most years i dont reallly mind the cold weather and passing of time, but I'm really looking forward to a few things. The Drive-In Movie Theatre I have not been to in like 3 years and I can't wait 'til that opens up again, driving to places without a destination, Longboarding through town in the middle of the night with the warm summer breeze in the air, Dads Rootbeers on a regular basis, going down town to Adrift Skatepark Hardcore concerts and going to Big Fat Burrito in between bands and getting the best chicken burrito there is; trips to new places like when my family went down the east coast of the states down through New York , New Hampshire, and Massachusettes. I really miss Cape Ann of Massachusettes where we camped out in West-Gloucester and would go to Rockford for dinner and walk around town. I miss making a lot of money and working a lot, and on days off I'd make the most of the day and go on sweet adventures; Pine Orchard Camp with all my friends and cousins is always a sweet time and i look forward to this year's setup there. It's even nicer knowing that this summer I'll be doing these things with new friends and creating new adventures and new destinations and who knows, maybe by the end of the summer i can start looking for an apartment to room with someone somewhere? All that can be said is sweet things are gonna happen this summer, and better yet the wait til the summer like Domincan Republic on Febuary 19th and my trip to Scotland on the March Break. Better split and find better things to do with my time off today. Take Care.

Strictly Saucers

I am really excited for this new album and have been for a while, and yet still there is so little information as to when it drops stores, Razzle Dazzle deffinately have there own mark in the hardcore punk genre. "So let me see you tear the motha fuckin club up.."

New

First time blogging it here, lets see how she goes, just getting started into my last semester of high school, so far classes are a breeze. Lately everything seems laid back since September and things keep getting better, sweet hangouts with friends, some awesome trips to come i.e. Dominican, Scotland/Ireland, and New York City, working more often, gaining experience and a bit of cash, and the idea of moving to British Columbia sometime next year is becoming more and more appealing. I took my sister to a hockey game tonight and talked to some old friends i havent seen a couple years and its sweet to see someone that you haven't in a l0ng time to see if they changed. Think I'm gonna do some reading and finish up The Golden Compass, man Iorek Byrnison is cool.
